TB-500

Also known as: Thymosin Beta-4 fragment, TB4 fragment, TB-500 (synthetic)

Synthetic peptide fragment related to Thymosin Beta-4 (actin-binding regulatory protein)

Overview

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide associated with the actin-binding protein Thymosin Beta-4. In animal and cell studies it has been linked to cell migration, angiogenesis, and tissue repair, and it is marketed for wound healing and muscle/tendon recovery. As with BPC-157, robust human efficacy data is lacking — there are no completed large, controlled human trials supporting the marketed recovery claims. It is frequently stacked with BPC-157 in 'recovery' protocols, but that combination has not been validated in controlled human research. Claims should be treated as preliminary.

Commonly Reported Uses

These are uses commonly discussed or marketed by users and vendors — not a list of proven or approved benefits, and not a recommendation.

  • Wound healing and tissue repair (marketed claim; primarily animal evidence)
  • Muscle and tendon recovery (marketed claim; unproven in controlled human trials)
  • Systemic recovery support (marketed claim; unproven)

What to Track

Data points you and your clinician might monitor. For observation only — not a diagnostic protocol.

  • Subjective — healing/recovery and pain scores for a tracked injury
  • Whoop — recovery score and HRV trend
  • Labs — hs-CRP if monitored by a clinician
  • Range of motion / function for a rehabbed injury
  • Sleep quality — Whoop trends

Safety & Legal Notes

NOT FDA-approved for human use. Like BPC-157, TB-500 was part of the batch of peptides whose Category 2 compounding nominations were withdrawn in 2026 (off Category 2 effective April 23, 2026) and slated for FDA Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee review in July 2026 — but this is NOT approval, and it was not a legally compoundable or OTC human drug at the time of writing. Most supply is sold as 'research use only.' EXPLICITLY PROHIBITED in sport: Thymosin Beta-4 / TB-500 was added to the WADA Prohibited List (Section S2) and remains banned. Long-term human safety is not established. Consult a licensed clinician.
