FTC disclosure — please read before following any links
Some links on the Protocolens public content site (blog, peptide encyclopedia, and marketing pages) are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, Protocolens may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We are disclosing this as required by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) under 16 CFR Part 255 (Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising).
1. What are affiliate links?
An affiliate link is a tracked URL that allows a merchant to identify traffic or purchases referred by Protocolens. When you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, Protocolens receives a referral commission — typically a percentage of the sale price or a flat fee.
Affiliate commissions do not change the price you pay. You pay the same amount whether or not you use an affiliate link.
2. Where affiliate links appear
Affiliate links appear only on Protocolens' public content site — specifically in:
- Blog posts (e.g., reviews and guides mentioning devices, supplements, or services).
- Peptide encyclopedia entries (e.g., links to wearable devices recommended for tracking relevant metrics).
- Marketing and landing pages (e.g., links to recommended devices like Whoop or Withings).
Affiliate links do not appear anywhere inside the authenticated Protocolens app (dashboard, goals, connections, protocol, data, insights, or settings pages). This is a hard architectural constraint — your health data pages are completely separated from our monetization activities.
3. How we are compensated
Protocolens participates in affiliate programs with companies including, but not limited to:
- Whoop — fixed CPA (cost-per-acquisition) commission for new Whoop members referred through our links.
- Supplement and wellness brands — percentage-of-sale commissions on qualifying purchases.
- Fitness device and body-composition device manufacturers — percentage-of-sale or flat commissions.
Specific commission rates are not disclosed on a per-link basis, but typical affiliate arrangements in the health and wellness category range from 3% to 40% of sale value, or $25 to $100+ as a flat acquisition fee.
4. How affiliate relationships affect our content
Our editorial policy is to recommend products that are genuinely relevant and useful to people tracking a health protocol. Affiliate relationships do not determine whether a product is mentioned, recommended, or how it is reviewed.
We do not accept payment for positive reviews, ratings, or editorial placement. If we receive a product for review, we will disclose that in the relevant post.
Our peptide encyclopedia does not contain affiliate links. It is a factual educational resource. Affiliates for wearables and devices appear in blog posts and guides, where the context is clearly commercial.
5. Compound and product recommendations — additional disclaimer
Where Protocolens links to peptide vendors, supplement companies, or research-chemical suppliers through affiliate relationships, the following applies:
- We do not endorse the safety, efficacy, purity, or legality of any product for any individual user.
- Many peptides are sold as research chemicals and are not FDA-approved for human use. It is your responsibility to understand the legal status in your jurisdiction.
- We do not recommend self-administering any substance without the guidance of a licensed healthcare provider.
- Affiliate relationships with vendors do not constitute an endorsement of any specific batch, brand, or source of a compound.
6. Display advertising
In addition to affiliate links, the Protocolens public content site may display third-party advertising served by networks such as Google AdSense or similar. These ads are served programmatically based on page content and browser context — they may use cookies on public pages consistent with our Privacy Policy.
Display advertising never appears inside the authenticated app. Health and biometric data pages are never monetized with display ads.
7. Questions
If you have questions about this disclosure or want to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, contact us at affiliate@protocolens.com.
